Description

This paper explores the interconnection between economic growth, national security and public finance, with a specific focus on the sustainability of defence systems. The primary aim is to analyse how defence financing concepts impact economic performance, social development and environmental sustainability. By addressing the financial architecture of public institutions, the study seeks to provide insights into how national defence expenditures can be optimized to balance security imperatives with sustainable economic growth.
The research employs a mixed-methods approach, integrating both qualitative and quantitative analyses. A literature review is conducted to assess existing theories on public finance, defence economics and sustainability frameworks. Empirical data on defence expenditures, economic indicators and government budgets are analysed to identify trends and correlations. Comparative case studies from various countries illustrate different approaches to defence financing, highlighting best practices and potential pitfalls. Additionally, econometric modelling is used to evaluate the long-term impact of military spending on macroeconomic variables such as GDP growth, public debt and investment in social infrastructure.
Preliminary results suggest that while national security investments are necessary, excessive military spending can constrain economic growth if not strategically managed. Findings indicate that sustainable defence financing requires efficient budget allocation, integration of environmentally conscious policies and increased transparency in financial governance. Countries that adopt flexible funding models and prioritize innovation in defence technologies tend to maintain a better balance between security and economic sustainability. The study concludes with policy recommendations for optimizing defence expenditures while promoting long-term economic and social stability.
